Halloween

We spent Halloween at out churches annual trunk or treat.  It was a fun night and a great way to spend time with church friends and get a little candy for the kids.  This year Brayden was a dinosaur.  It is actually a costume my MIL made for Andrea when she was little.  It was still in good shape and B was soooo excited to wear it. I made little Missy's costume.  It was my first attempt and I put it off for far to long, but it got done and I think she is the cutest ghost ever.  But I think out kids are pretty cute all the time anyway!! :-) And I made some shirts online for Jason and I that we can wear every year.  Jason's says Dadcula and mine says Mummy, kinda clever I thought!

Mother Nature's Farm

We took our annual trip to pick pumpkins, see the animals, and get in the fall spirit.  It was still a lot warmer out than normal, but there is hope in sight as the evening get to be nice.  We had a lot of fun taking Auntie Andrea, Uncle Jay, and Grandma with us this year.  We also went at night for the first time.  It was busy, but a beautiful evening with the family.

So far behind

The blog has taken the back burner in our  my life. (let's be real)  Hadley is already almost 6 months old and I haven't blogged since 4, oops! Being church secretary, 2 busy little ones that aren't great sleepers, trying to stay on top of house work and laundry, getting out to do stuff, I admit I am often overwhelmed. It has been a long hot summer, but is finally starting to cool off and we have been enjoying talking walks, playing in the backyard, the zoo, parks and all those fun things that come with the end of summer and realization that there is hope in sight for cool days ahead. Hopefully I will get three new posts done today while they nap, laundry can what another day.  Here is what we have been up to.... Warning: lots of photo's ahead!

Playing at the park and learning to ride a bike
First time by herself in the stroller

During the month Jason worked 4x10's we took a rare opportunity in September when the high was in the 80's and overcast to go the zoo, hadn't been in a few months, and Haddy's first time!

Look in the tree behind B, it was fun to watch him run up and down the trees, and a little frightening I might add.
 Outside at Auntie Sara's
Cool baby girl, $.99 at Children's Place outlet
TNT kick-off with his "gf" Miren :-)
Pediatrician said we could give her a little oatmeal to see if she sleeps better.  She loves it, but doens't sleep better.  I have only given it to her a few times but she cries when she is done.  I think she will be very excited next month when she gets fed more often! :-)

As B says, "my new climber": Awesome deal from craigslist
 Loves his sandbox
 5 months old - 10.6.12
 2.5 years old 10.12.12
 She loves watching the fish
I am attemping to be crafty and making my first ever halloween costume, hope she is the cutest ghost ever, and not worst! :-)

Sits all by herself now and is scooting and rolling, she may be crawling pretty soon!

 Painting pumpkins!

My loves, minus the biggest one! :-)

Saying our prayers

Don't you end your prayers with a cheer? :-)

The time has come

to Potty train Brayden!!!  He has been intrigued with the potty for a longgggg time.  But, I knew he wasn't ready.  Honestly, I wasn't ready.  Over the past few months I have been researching ideas and reading up on the how to's and coming up with a plan.  I bought big boy undies about 2 months ago and we have been talking about them.  A few weeks ago, I decided it was time (I am pretty sick of changing 2 kids diapers) and I was going to start getting him and myself ready.  I printed a potty train chart that I found on pinterest, I bought some rewards, candy, salty snacks, and lots of yummy juices and chocolate milk.  I told him when we get back from Legoland he was going start using the potty and we were going to hop on the potty train, "poo poo".   I was overly excited about it, but hey, he was ready to get on board.

So Monday morning, we watch a a few videos that I found from some potty training apps and I set the "I'm a big kids now" alarm to go off every 30 minutes, and we learned the "potty dance".  I ask if he was ready to be a big boy, he said yes, and we took the diaper off....... HE FLIPPED OUT!!! "I need my diaper, don't take it" as he ran around holding the very wet nightime diaper in his hand.  Not how I planned.  I told him to chill out and we were going to give it a shot.  He got a squeeze it and popcorn (that is the treat we wanted) with his breakfast, and I waited.  When the first alarm went off we went in the bathroom.  Nothing.  A few minutes later he went on the floor.  I had him sit in the potty and we talked about how we can't do that on mommy's floor cause that is what we do on the potty.  He was not a big fan of the big potty, so I took out the little potty my sister had given me.  30 minutes later, "mommy, I gotta go", and that he did.  #2 ! Wow, I am amazing at this! OK, lucky!!

The rest of the day little naked butt ran around and only had an accident when we woke up from his nap (too lazy, I think)  and while he was too busy watching cartoons while I made dinner.  Day 2 had 2 accidents, and Day 3 none!  It has been crazy, but he has caught on really quickly, I usually don't have to ask, he has typically been telling me. And the last 2 nights he has woken me up twice cause he needs to use the potty.  He has never been and great sleeper or eater, I think the Lord new I needed something to be easy with him so I wouldn't sell him! ha!  I am so proud at how well he has been doing, even went to the zoo for 4 hours this morning with out any accidents.  He has even earned his first reward for filling the train, he sure goes a lot in one day, I swear we spend most of our day in the bathroom.  Best part of all this, his cute booty in big boy undies..... SOOOOOO cute!!!

End of Day 1, almost to his first reward
 So stinking cute!

Our snacks and candy treats to keep us excited and thirsty
First reward, chuck truck with play dough

His big reward, the guitar he say at Target that he talks about a lot!
