The best Christmas Ever

I remember last year at this time Jason and I were talking about what a big difference this Christmas would be with our new baby.  Watching him him fall in love with bows and boxes, and having to protect the Christmas tree just in case he is crawling.  As Christmas has been approaching we have been doing all kinds of fun and festive holiday activities and have indeed needed to protect out Christmas tree.  However, we have received and even better present than we thought, Brayden started walking on Monday.  That is right, walking at 8.5 months old.  He is an amazing little boy and we can't wait for Christmas.  It truly will be the best Christmas ever.  Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and remember the true meaning of Christmas. Merry Christmas from the Voss'.

does he know how old he is?

Brayden just turned 8 months old and is a little over 22 lbs.  He continues to learn so much and is getting big way to fast.  In the last few weeks he has gotten 2 more teeth, can stand by himself, "runs" on the furniture, and as of yesterday he took 4 steps.  His laugh melts my heart and I love his smiles and sweet, curious personality.  Such a great little boy!!!  Enjoy the Videos!!

Christmas Card

So here it is....... Our 2010 Christmas card.  I love it.  We made 8 different cards and finally decided on this one.   Shutterfly had way to many choices, but I think we made the right choice.  I also entered Brayden in a photo contest through the website, and made a bunch of photo gifts for the family.  Shutterfly makes projects fun, easy, and they give you all kinds of free stuff in the process. Have you checked it out yet?  Oh and don't worry, you will probably get on in the mail too.

I Heart Christmas Cards.....

I honestly get so excited when I start to see them arrive!   I feel like it is an opportunity to reconnect with all my friends and I love pictures. My favorite ones are the photo cards and Shutterfly has the best!

I love Shutterfly and have been nothing but pleased with their product.  I am not a scrapbooker and have order lots of their photobooks that are super easy to make.  Sara and I also make calendars for the grandparents every year and have order a few other need photo projects from them too.

I am thrilled to order my holiday cards from them this year because they have an even bigger selection, I haven't decided which one since there are so many to choose from!

They have actual Christmas cards that are folded and open with a photo on the front!

Or they have the traditional...and my all time favorite original photo card that is flat :)

Check it out, I can't wait to see yours!!

It has been a busy few month. We have spent a lot of time trying to enjoy the fall and get outside. Brayden is growing so much and learning so quickly. In the past month Brayden has learned to crawl, pull himself up, and walk along the furniture. It is never a dull moment around here. Brayden has also started sleeping through the night, (YEA!) and I feel like a new person. We are having so much fun and everyday are more and more thankful for our amazing little man!!

Far too long and lots of first

Clearly I am proving that I am not a good blogger. I really want to be, but I am just not good at this. Anyway there is so much to catch up on.
I went back to work and Brayden had a hard time adjusting. He decided to no longer take a bottle and would not eat and cry for Sara everyday. After a couple of weeks and lots of different bottles he decided it was ok, and he started taking a bottle from Sara. YEA! It has been so great having Sara watch him, it makes going back to work part time easier.
Brayden continues to grow and learn so fast. He is an amazing boy and I feel so blessed he is ours. In the last 7 weeks since I have last blogged Brayden tried rice cereal. But it gave him a tummy aches so we are going to try again at six months. For now we still get up every 3-4 hours. A week after he was 4 months he got 2 teeth in 18 hours, a few days later he found he can sit up by himself, he then learned he can roll over both ways and he "found his feet", he went on his first family vacation, and I believe he is going to be crawling in the next few weeks. He can get up on his knees and hands and rock. He also can scoot across the room. He is awesome and I am blown away by how amazing he is and how much a can love him. Here are some photos of the last few weeks. Enjoy!!!!

He's getting so big!

Brayden is now 3 months old and I can't believe how much he changes every week.  He is so much fun and that big smile he gives me every morning could melt hearts.  It has been a big month for us.  We have moved into our new home that we love and finally have room to spread out in, Brayden has started sleeping in his big boy bed, and I go back to work tomorrow. UGH!  I love teaching and I am excited, but I want to take Brayden along with me.  The good news is that I only work from 8-12 and family will be watching him every day, and for that I am so blessed and thankful.

Here's to you Beth and everyone else!

It has been more than 4 weeks since my last post, and I am sorry.  This blog thing really isn't for me.  I want to keep up and entertain everyone and share my little man, but I just don't love doing it.  I love to look at everyone else's blogs and  am annoyed when they don't update more frequently, but I don't return the favor.  I feel guilt everyday that I don't do it, but not enough to just do it! :-)  Well, by personal request I was asked to update the blog and that is what has gotten me into high gear.

Brayden changes so much everyday and I feel so blessed that I have been able to stay home with him over the last 9 weeks and I still have 6 more before I go back to work part time.  It has been a huge blessing to be able to make the transition and I am excited to still be teaching 6th grade, but now at a Christian School. WOOHOO!!  I will miss Quartz Hill and the amazing staff and principal, but being home with Brayden is soooo much better!!!

We went in for his two month check up yesterday and got his vaccinations.  I think it is harder on me then him.  He did well and was a little fussy yesterday, but that just meant I got to cuddle him even more and give him lots of kisses.  I love it.  He weighed 14lb 4oz (94 percentile) and was 25 in long(98 percentile). Such a big boy!!

I know pictures are so much better than my jabbering, so here you go........ (sorry they are in order newest to oldest_

Our little man is 3 weeks old today.  I have no idea how he got so old so fast, it still feels like yesterday that I was pleading for him to come out.  Now we can't imagine life without him.  It has definitely been a busy few weeks.  We welcomed Brayden, started to get settled at home, had to move and now for the past week we hangout together eating, sleeping, pooping, and crying while we are living at my parents waiting to hear on a house we have put an offer in on.

He is a great little man and is about the sweetest guy in the world, just like his daddy.  He is getting bigger and bigger every day.  Last Tuesday and the pediatrician he weighed 10 pounds 12 ounces.  I think I am giving him cream.  We also got to start giving him baths which we all enjoy.  Jason and I are having so much fun being parents and can't imagine life before him.  God truly has blesses us more than we ever could have imagined.

He's Here!!

Jill and Jason are happily enjoying their first night with their son. So Jill asked me (her sister) to update the blog for everyone. So Auntie Sara is pleased to announce the birth of Brayden Scott Voss. He was born this afternoon at 4:16 and was 9 lbs. 9 oz. and 21.5 inches long.

Jill and Jason got a call from the hospital around 3:30 am telling them they finally had a room ready for them! They tried inducing her but things were not progressing too much. Then when they broke her water his heart rate dropped and they weren't too pleased with that and she was still only dialated to around 4 cm yet. So they decided to go ahead with a c-section. Turns out it was a good choice. Little Brayden was face up instead of face down and had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck twice! Plus he was a pretty big boy, the doctor said a c-section was the best choice! Jill and Brayden are both doing well.

I'm sure Jill and Jason will have much more details and pictures once they are all back home and settled again, but here are a few pictures of their new little boy!

Put a fork in me, I'm done!!

Well we have reached and exceeded 40 weeks.  I am officially 40 weeks and 1 day.  I honestly don't think that he is ever gone to come.  I know the safest place for him is where he is and we are so thankful that he is healthy and happy in there, BUT I am very uncomfortable and ready to see his cute little face.  (I assume he will be the cutest baby ever, he will steal the title from his cousin Zach of course)  We went to the doctors twice last week and both times their was nothing.  No dilating, no enfacement, no dropping, NOTHING!!! I have known all along that genetics was not on my side but I had some hope, and after this week, it is dwindling.  So we go back to the doctor again on Tuesday to see if anything has changed and for an ultrasound.  The ultrasound is to see just how big he is and to make sure he will fit if I get induced. (WHAT?!! was my first response)  Then a decision will be made for induction or whatever.  They are trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he will get things going on his own because it is the best, but they have promised me that they will not let me go more than a week past my due date, so by next Saturday he should be here.  My next post should be real pictures of him and the reveal of his name.  Wish us luck!! :-)

35 and a Shower

Only 5 more weeks until our due date.  Where has the time gone??? I can't believe how fast these last 35 weeks have gone.  I had the realization today that I have only 15 more days to teach.  That is if he comes near his due date. :-)

We are continuing to get his room and ourselves ready and now it is time to wait.  We do have the condo for sale and waiting for it to go into escrow any day and we had an offer accepted that we put in last week.  It is a short sale so it probably wont close until May/June.  Not that it adds any stress. :-)  We are just excited to have a house and back yard for our little man.

I go to the doctor on Tuesday and they will continue to track how big he is and the swelling that has started in the last 2 week in my feet and hands.  A few weeks ago his head was measuring in the 98th percentile and overall he was in the 78th.  We knew we had a big boy, but I am getting a little nervous about this.

We have been very blessed the last two weeks.  On the 20th the church threw us an amazing baby shower and we were blessed with so many wonderful things.  Then this past Friday the staff at school threw me another baby shower and we were again blessed with more awesome things for our little man.  And this coming Friday my sister is hosting a party for all my nearest and dearest friends.  I can't even begin to express how lucky we feel to have such a supportive family, friends, church and co-workers.  God is so good!!  Enjoy the photos!!!

10 weeks and counting

Well, we started our 30th week.  I can't even believe that we only have 10 more weeks to go.  I am so excited but know I am going to miss the feeling of him growing inside me, I can't even express how happy it makes me.  Jason is going to be an amazing father and I can't wait to watch!!

We go in for my last ultra sound tomorrow and start by biweekly appointments.  I guess if I can't see him anymore until he comes hearing his little heart beat will be enough! :-)

Exciting things in 2010

This year has started out great!  We spent a lot of our Christmas break getting ready for little mans big arrival in a few months (by spring break I will be too big to do much) and it was a family affair getting the nursery ready.  It has been fun and I am getting more and more excited every week.

We got some great news this morning.  Since my 20 week ultrasound we have been keeping watch on his kidneys as there was some dilation, and it has continued....until today!  We went for our last visit with the parinatologist and he said that everything looks good, he is a healthy little boy, and we don't need to go back to see him again.  It is such a huge answer to prayers. :-) Little buddy is growing more and more every week.  He unfortunately has a big head that makes me a little nervous, but apparently it runs in the family.  We are told he is in the 74th percentile right now and weighs about 3 lbs 10 oz.  He is going to be a big boy.  Can't wait to meet him!!  Only 11 weeks to go.
